You’re right, Sazzie, we did have a good position and it was more spacious than last year.

We had another busy day on Sunday. The show was open one hour less than the day before and we made 60 morsbags.

We arrived promptly and spent a little time winding bobbins and getting some more “pleb” kits ready, so as to have an alternative to the “royal” kits, though these proved popular again.

Sunday morning - lull before the storm

As the morning went on, we got quite busy, but had a nice flow of customers again, the queue never numbered more than four and the waiting time wasn’t too long, with eight sewing machines in use.

    Happy Sunday royal bag makers

It was very useful having a dedicated person working on giving information and handing out leaflets and pre-made bags to people who couldn’t stay to make one, reeling in new customers, and so on! Nice work Maggie and Freda on Saturday, and Offcuts, Kay and Mary on Sunday

Here are a couple of photos of my “Indian Summer” themed bag. It was only as I was going through my photos that I realised that I had forgotten to pay my £1 entry fee!! What a silly billy! 😕

The whole bag folds into the pocket – the decoration on the pocket is on the inside when the bag is opened up for use.

What struck me was what a “cosy” show this was – all the lovely felty things and lots of quilts gave a very “warm” impression.

    Thank you Pol!

Here’s just a quick post to let you know how we got on, so far. We set up our gallery home on Friday afternoon and returned on Saturday to sew, sew, sew 😀

A total of 70 bags was made – 50 of them from royal curtain material.

We have a spacious yet snug home in the gallery over the servery in a dining hall. Surprisingly it’s not too hot.

    Busy Saturday morning

We had a nice steady stream of customers and gave away some bags as well. The photos were taken before we got busier.

It was lovely to put names to faces – nice to meet you, Jean and Freda, and nice to see you again Maggie, Chris, Sue and Tori. Hope I haven’t missed anyone out! 😕

Looking forward to another productive day tomorrow.

Wow, Ivybags, that website is a find – it’s inspirational!
It’s not JUST a trawler – there are butterflies, pyramids, DNA, scenery, huts! I WANT!!! (to make, that is!)

I’m sorry to hear that Agwen! I was wondering if we’d see you again this time. Better luck next time! I’m sure we’ll have plenty of customers.

It’s packed now, so no photo til Saturday. I’ll ask the competition organisers if I’m allowed to enter or not, but either way, it’s a morsbag! 😀

F prohibited me from using the elephant idea – it’s all yours! 😉

Sounds lovely! I hope you get plenty of enthusiastic takers. Will you let us know how it goes – I’m especially intrigued by the “little extras” 😀

I’m hoping we’ll have time for a bit more of a chat, Tori 😀

My competition entry is now complete – a normal sized bag that meets the competition rules….. 😉

    That’s a fab idea, Offcuts!

M/C wants the bag to be full sized – they’re so much more useful – so I’m making a couple of prototypes.

I’m not entering the competition with an idea of winning. I’m sure there are people with more experience who have spent ages on their entry. I’m just doing it so that people see a morsbag!! 😀

We’re looking forward to coming to Leicester again and meeting up with Offcuts, Butterfly bags, Maggie, Margaret and Kay. The show is in a different venue to last year – new territory to us, but not to Offcuts, as “Son of Offcuts” went to school there.

I was very excited as I spotted that there is a competition.

Only snag is, so much to do, so little time!
Create a piece of textile art to fit into an A4 sized space (the piece can be flat or in 3 dimensions)
    Theme: Indian Summer.
Any materials or techniques may be used.
All entries will be judged under one category, regardless of age of creator, style or technique
    Minimum age 14
    (at least that bit’s easy!)
Please bring your entry to The Big Textile show on Saturday 27th September.
Entry to competition will be £1 to be donated to a designated charity.
The winner will be announced on Sunday 28th September at The Big Textile Show.

I have a project to finish tonight, then tomorrow we’re packing and will leave home in the evening. We are going straight on to our daughter’s wedding the following weekend, so the packing will be a bit complicated as we have to remember morsbags-related stuff and wedding-related stuff.

Still, there’s always Thursday to knock up an “Indian Summer” themed small morsbag….. *thinking*

Will keep you informed about how the BTS goes 😀

Thanks for the news update Sazzie. I’m sorry your podmate has moved away 🙁
Happy sewing towards the 5000 target. Our weather today is very encouraging for sewing – we have drizzle and wind after a lovely indian summer for the last couple of weeks.

The guy in the yellow waistcoat has quite a collection of classic and unusual cars – he comes along and stays for a while, then arrives the next day in a different one.

This is the car he brought on Sunday, when he was wearing the matching waistcoat.
