Hi All and well done everyone for such amazing efforts during this pandemic. It was good to feel as though I was doing something to help. I started by making masks for the family and that rapidly developed to carers and shopworkers who couldn’t get masks at that time. My little stash of beautiful cotton pieces that I could not bear to throw away came into it’s own! My road has a whatsapp group so that we can all help each other and that became the order line for further masks. As I had been in shielding since the start, I was confident my masks were Covid free! Added to that, they were in quarantine for 3 days before giving away (in clean envelopes). I recently did 2 socially distanced handouts. One for the Macmillan Coffee Morning and the other for Great Glen Walking Market. All bags were in quarantine for 3 days before the event. I had bags on a stand with table in front. I wore mask and gloves and asked people to point to the bag they would like and then put it on the table for them. Everyone was happy to take them. No-one said anything about spreading Covid. At the walking market, Jan from FabGbags and I just put them over our arms and, as it was outdoors, handed them to anyone who wanted them. Again masks and gloves were worn. No rooting through the bags was allowed – if you touched it, it was yours 😀 It was great to be out again. It can be done, so if you feel confident enough, I recommend it. Sally South Bags have been making bags for the Salvation Army Foodbank throughout. Sadly, there are even more calls on the foodbank these days and we can’t make enough! If anyone has an excess of bags they would like to donate, they would be very grateful. Ask me for details. Love and best wishes to everyone and virtual hugs to anyone struggling at this difficult time. Ann x
