I copied this from the old website http://morsbags.org/forum-archive/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=297.

” Many people ask us if they can sell morsbags. If you make a labelled morsbag with our pattern then you can’t sell it, I’m afraid, it’s a copyright issue. Hopefully the discussion (here – http://morsbags.org/forum-archive/viewforum.php?f=24) deals with why we believe this is the right way to go….and if you’re selling morsbags, please stop and consider the overall campaign.
Don’t want to be bossy, but we all need to keep this in mind if we’re going to appeal to people’s imaginations and ultimately win (and quicker than if we were selling) the battle for the sea creatures choking on plastic.
[At a handout] there were some people who wanted to know how much the bags were, asked what the catch was, didn’t want one because it would cost too much etc, which was a bit baffling, as they were FREE but it was ultimately rewarding because they went away with a FREE bag that had jerked them into thinking about their actions and their future plastic bag consumption, and off they went with a smile, a morsbag and a skip (not the last bit, but the sun was out for a change!)
So, NO dinero, no cash, no wonga, no moolah, no gold bars, no lucre, no dough, no spondulics, boodle, brass, shekels, nickels or doubloons!
FREEEEEEE morsbags 😀 “January 23, 2014 at 9:01 pm #1738
Thank you for finding this Beattie. I have a copy in my documents which I send out occasionally when we are at charity events.January 25, 2014 at 5:38 am #1770
Yes, thanks Beattie. It is amazing how many bags you can give away in one place and still some people bang on about selling them. That is so well put, it makes the point without lecturing!January 25, 2014 at 8:36 am #1774
Brilliant Beattie , thank you .January 31, 2014 at 10:04 pm #1875
Thanks for re posting Beattie. I’ve been sticking to my NY resolution of daily bagging people, mostly anonymously, but if people do find out where the bag came from they tend to thank instead of make…. I’ve started to use the phrases ‘pay-it-forward’ and ‘random acts of kindness’ as a way to get people to understand that it’s an act with a means to carrying the process forward as much as a free gift (although it is of course a free gift as well) but preferably a slightly viral one!
Does anyone else have any ideas about how to move the recipient past the glee stage and onto the ‘please also make one yourself if poss’ stage?!February 1, 2014 at 2:08 am #1883
I was wondering about putting one bag and one kit through letterboxes. I have only put 10 bags through letterboxes so far but I thought about trying 10 kits through the same letterboxes and see what happens? I had a lovely call today from a lady from Butterfly’s village. She was very excited wanting to make bags for her friends. I also had an email from a WI lady who was at our WI event. She is had made 4 at home and was going to make morsbags with her own WI group. I sort of think we get one sewer per event which I am very happy with. I also had a very nice young man enquire about joining my pod today! 😀
